Introduction to Glasswork on a Torch
This workshop is an introduction to the principles of hot glass. Students will work with soft glass in front of a table top torch. Students will be familiarized with tools and materials. They will learn how to make wound glass beads, surface and encased decoration. A short lesson on marble and sculpture making will be presented. They will also learn about the annealing process to stabilize their glasswork. Classes are limited to five students and will be held in Humboldt.
Cost is $150 per person. Tuition must be paid in advance and no refunds will be allowed except for bad weather. All equipment and materials will be furnished for this class. Students should wear old clothes to each class.
